Items of frontline life - plastic comb with a case, faience die, handle for tea-strainer (unfortunately the tea-strainer itself was beyond the reach of mine while photographing) on a Finnish saucer.
All these items were found in great garbage pit close to a small group of Finnish dug-outs, among many other interesting findings - coffee cups and saucers (usually broken), pocket flashlight, excellent kitchen knife, Finnish and Soviet coins (among them - Soviet 20 kopecks dated 1932 with a hole for a lace). Also there were great amount (up to 500) of different (vodka, lemonade) corks and only several bottles.
So we can suppose that there in beautiful place, on high bank above a small lake, in 7 kms behind the frontline, was a cafe for soldiers. Most of Finns are great likers of coffee, and cafe (kahvila in Finnish) should be one of necessary spots in Finn's day trip.
