The unit badge - 3rd Infantry Brigade (3.Pr.). It was formed of the base of partly demobilized 12th Infantry Division (12.D) in 1942. Battlefields of unit: 1942 - March 1944 - Karhumäki, March-June 1944 - in reserve at Salla (Lapland), June-August 1944 - Karelian Isthmus (Uusikirkko, Summa, Vyborg Eastern suburbs, Saima Channel).
The badge was found near Uusikirkko. It was a place where Soviet soldiers searched the contents of Finnish backpacks left behind while retreating. It was a glade with metal parts of backpacks, remnants of Finnish uniform, rifle cleaning tools, medical bottles ets. On the Southern edge of the glade were found remains of 6 Soviet soldiers, which will be buried in memorial close to Vyborg in spring 2005 (with association of 'POISK' team from Vyborg).
