* - There are (commonly) no not buried soldiers in Finland. The place in military cemeteries are reserved and gravestones are prepared for all the soldiers, even MIA. So re-burying of recently found remains cannot make a disorder in the cemetery.
The remains were transferred to Finnish side 30.10.2002
Concerning the identifying of remains
Unfortunately the ID tag wasn't found with the remains. But 3 facts helped us in identification process. The remains belonged to a person appr. 190 cm high, he was killed by a bullet through his cranium temple, and due to short period of battle the reports of all the losses with maps for almost every soldier were prepared by Finnish officers. Dr. Heikki Hakala found in Finnish War archive military cards of losses of this fighting, and discovered that 3 persons were left close to the place where remains were found. Using medical data and reports about losses he found that only Tervola was killed through his head and he was 188cm high. Then the DNA identification procedure started. October 20th, 2004 the report came that the remains belongs to Eino Tapio Tervola.
