A Finnish knife-bayonet. It was found not far from Kämärä railway station in a dug-out, possibly in the Finnish maintenance crew camp. It was found in scabbard, but water had found its way inside and produced black stains visible in photo. After taking photo the owner slightly cleaned the blade, it became clearer without polishing loss, but small spots of rust still remains close to handle.
The handle type let us refer it to early type, possibly Civil Guard M28, but it could be also M27, it's difficult to recognise small differences in blade shape by photos of bayonets in small catalogue. Wooden brackets are removed from the handle, one is in excellent condition, another one will be reproduced.
Manufacturer's markings - Hackman&Co - could be clearly seen. Itis one of the oldest Finnish metal-working companies.
